We are pleased to announce the exhibition, "BLACK & WHITE", featuring 6 contemporary ceramic artists working in contrasting styles, clay bodies and surface treatments. The show opens April 21st 6 -8 pm through May 16

Xiaosheng Bi imports his whiter than white porcelain from his native China to create stunning translucent vessels. NYC artist, Kathy Erteman's bold, black & white designs on her pedestal and wall pieces are graphic and geometric. The designs on the anthropomorphic "Harlequin" series of Elizabeth Kendall, are created with paper-clay porcelain slip which she describes in her recent article in "Clay Times" magazine. Joyce Michaud, head of Ceramics at Hood College, famous for her exquisite jewel-like pinch pots, will also show some of her oversized dramatic white serving platters. Wagons and vessels at the same time, Jennifer Hatfield's objects have layered and textured darkly painted surfaces on terra cotta. Lynne Chytilo, Head of the Ceramics Department at Albion College in Michigan exhibits several pieces from her tool series of wall-mounted stoneware.
